Kent Taylor, 68, of Urbandale and formerly of Perry passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at his home in Urbandale, Iowa.
A gathering with his family will be held Friday, March 31 from 5-8 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry at a later date. Kent Eugene Taylor was born July 29, 1948, at Perry, Iowa, to Lawrence Levi and Dorothy Louise (Heck) Taylor.
He graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1966 and then went on to further his education at the University of Northern Iowa.
After graduation, he was employed by the Iowa Department of Revenue and Finance.
After he retired, he worked at the Jordan Creek Barnes and Noble book store.
He enjoyed reading books and going to the movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Taylor.
He is survived by two brothers, Mark (Kim) Taylor of Perry and Charles Taylor of Idaho; and a niece, Michelle Atwell of Ankeny.
