Mark Douglas Bristle was born to Robert and Kathryn (Rose) Bristle June 20, 1954, in Perry, Iowa. He passed away Oct. 24, 2016, at the Eckstein Center in Scottsdale, Ariz., at the age of 62 from a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor.

Mark graduated from Perry High School in 1972 and from Ellsworth Community College in 1974.

On May 29, 1976, Mark and Joy Anne (Kading) Bristle were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Perry. To this union both were blessed with the birth of their son, Warren Douglas Bristle, born Dec. 3, 1977. This past year they celebrated their 40th anniversary with a boat ride on the Colorado River.

Mark’s working career spanned 42 years, working for Firestone Rubber and Tire Co., Coke-A-Cola Bottling Co., John Deere and Co. and American Family Insurance in Iowa. Mark moved his family to Cave Creek, Ariz., in 2000, where he continued his career in sales with Hacienda Harley Davidson and Reliable Forklift Sales.

An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Mark was a member of the Harley Davidson of Scottsdale Drill team and the Scottsdale HOG Chapter 3160. He took annual motorcycle trips and traveled in 45 U.S. states.

As a rock hound, he tumbled rocks from the southwest and enjoyed ATV trips. In Iowa Mark enjoyed snowmobiling and hunting trips for white tail deer and ring neck pheasants with his pair of German shorthaired retrievers.

Mark is survived by his wife, Joy; son, Warren (Tracy) Bristle; and grandsons, Dawson Bristle and Sawyer Bristle, all from Cave Creek, Ariz.; father, Robert (Delores Porter) Bristle of Windsor Heights; brother, Michael (Cheryl) Bristle of Bixby, Okla.; sister, Linda (Don) Daniel from Mauldin, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Bristle; and sister, Ronda Menke Haas.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry, with lunch to follow. The family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment will be at the View Valley Cemetery, 1465 Hull Ave. in Perry.
