The remains of longtime Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger will be transported to Perry Tuesday afternoon, and a local funeral home has invited the community to line the route as a sign of respect for the beloved victim of gun violence at the school.
The cortege will leave Urbandale about 1 p.m. Tuesday and will enter Perry about 1:30 p.m., traveling along westbound Iowa Highway 141. The cortege will exit at Willis Avenue and travel westbound to 18th Street and then northbound to Park Street.
The cortege will travel westbound on Park Street until it reaches the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home-Perry Chapel at 1721 Park St. in Perry.
Tuesday’s weather forecast calls for very low temperatures and dangerously cold wind chills. People lining the route are encouraged to dress extra warmly and to wear Bluejay blue.
