Erin Butler, owner of Butler Appraisals, celebrated her company’s induction into the Perry Chamber of Commerce with a well-attended ribbon-cutting ceremony at her office in the Towncraft Coworking Center.

“I’ve been here for almost a year now as my own business,” Butler said. After working with Central Iowa Appraisers in Des Moines for five years, she was excited to open up her own office in Perry. “I like being part of the community,” she said. “I feel like since I’m right down here, I get to see people.”

Butler’s mother, Pam, in town for the ribbon cutting, said it had been her daughter’s long-term plan to open up shop in Perry, where her husband, Jack Butler, serves as public works director, and kids Dylan, 11, and Chloe, 6, attend school. According to Pam, her daughter’s business is already booming. “She’s been really busy the whole time she’s been here in Perry,” Pam said.

Some of Butler’s clients were in attendance at the ribbon-cutting as well, including representatives from Raccoon Valley Bank and People’s Bank. Butler said she was “tickled” that so many family members, friends and clients showed up to support her.
