A Stanhope man died early Sunday when he lost control of the motorcycling he was driving about two miles west of Stratford on Iowa Highway 175.
Monte M. Dilliner, 52, was eastbound on a 2002 Kawasaki shortly after midnight when the vehicle “dropped off onto the right-hand shoulder, of the state highway, according to a report issued by the Iowa State Patrol.
The motorcycle “rolled over, and the driver was thrown from the vehicle” and “came to rest on the north shoulder and ditch” of Iowa Highway 175, the report said.
Dilliner was “pronounced dead at the scene.”
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Stratford EMS and the Dayton Police Department.
