History Boy Theater Co. in Jefferson is staging “A Year with Frog and Toad,” a whimsical show based on the beloved children’s books by Arnold Lobel. The story follows two great friends, the ever-popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad, through four fun-filled seasons.

The show opened Thursday, Dec. 20, with a special preview for the students of Greene County and Paton-Churdan schools, and opened to the public Friday, Dec. 21. There will be a total of six performances, including a Sunday matinee.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $17 for children. All tickets include dinner and the show.

History Boy’s adaptation includes a larger-than-life set that changes throughout the seasons and features Lars Skaar, native of Story City, as Frog and Robby Pedersen, founder and artistic director of History Boy Theatre Co., as Toad.

The History Boy Theater Co. is located at 115 S. Wilson St. in Jefferson. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 515-370-5369.
