An Adel man died Friday morning when the pickup truck he was driving collided with a semi-tractor trailer.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, David Lee Carscadden, 67, of Adel was driving a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup when he “entered onto Highway 6 from a private drive and struck” a 2018 Freightliner semi-tractor, driven westbound by Freddy Medrano, 50, of San Antonio, Texas.
Carscadden “was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries from the collision,” the crash report said. The victim was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident occurred about 10:15 a.m. Friday on Greene Street between Fifth and Seventh streets in Adel, according to the report.
Carscadden was transported to the office of the Iowa State Medical Examiner in Ankeny by Dallas County EMS.
The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
