An Adel woman resisted service of an arrest warrant Aug. 25 by allegedly kicking an officer of the Adel Police Department in the face when he tried to extricate her and her cat from a patrol car.

Kathryn Mary Stock, 20, of 2121 Greene St., Adel, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for violation of probation and charged with interference with official acts.

The incident began about 10 a.m., when officers of the Adel Police Department attempted to serve Stock, who “was seated unsecured in the back seat of a patrol car holding a cat,” according to court records.

An officer “attempted to speak with Stock” and explain “that she was going to jail for her warrant but she continued to speak about being a follower and was not making sense.” Stock “continued to make incoherent statements,” according to court records.

When the officer “attempted to reach into the vehicle to assist Stock out of the back seat,” she allegedly “kicked” the officer “in the face.”

The officer “then pulled her from the vehicle while giving commands to stop resisting,” but Stock “continued to fight with officers and scratched” an officer on the right forearm, leaving an abrasion.

Stock is held in the Dallas County Jail. She is scheduled for a hearing Sept. 18 in Dallas County District Court.
