Alan M. Hinz, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away April 6, 2023, at AVOW Hospice House in Naples, Florida. He was 71 years old.
Born Dec. 15, 1951, in Carroll, Iowa, Alan was the son of Delbert Hinz and Katherine (Roberts) Hinz.
He graduated from Perry High School in 1970 and later attended Indian Hills Community College.
Alan dedicated 45 years of his life to Digital Equip Corp. in Maynard, Massachusetts. He was a hardworking and dedicated employee who was respected by his colleagues.
In April 1973 he married the love of his life, Helen (Tucker) Hinz, and they spent many happy years together.
Alan is survived by his wife, Helen Hinz; his daughter, Kristen (Hinz) Whitney, and her husband, Matt; and his daughter, Alison Hinz. Alan was also a proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Ahlina Andrews. He is also survived by his two sisters, Frances Morman and Norma Fulton; as well as 11 nieces and nephews; and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews.
In his free time, Alan was an avid gun enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the North Leominster Rod and Gun Club.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
