Arloween Pohl, 83, passed away Sept. 24, 2016, after a short illness.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1615 N. 15th St. in Fort Dodge.

Arloween Joy Carlson, the daughter of Alvin and Helen (Drake) Carlson, was born July 7, 1933, on a farm south of Slater.

She was the head cook for 24 years at Phillips Junior High School.

On Aug. 24, 1951, she was united in marriage to Elmer Pohl. The couple made their home and raised their family in Fort Dodge.

Survivors include her daughters, Pamela (Mike) Steck, Mona Baker and Melesa (Mark) Brown; eight grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Arloween was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Clifford Carlson; and in 2008 her husband, Elmer.
