Betty Stech, 86, of Perry passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at the Rowley Masonic Community in Perry, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 5 at 1 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Perry. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 4 from 2-4 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the West Linn Cemetery at Linden.

Memorials will be given to the Perry Public Library or the First United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to Betty’s family at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Betty Ann Stech was born Oct. 10, 1931, at Cummings, Iowa, to Wayne A. and Viola Pauline (Jenks) Grimm.

She attended school in the Linden School System and then Simpson College.

After graduation, she worked at Bankers Life in Des Moines.

Betty was united in marriage to Gail Eugene Stech at the United Methodist Church in Des Moines April 6, 1952.

After they were married, she worked at the Sale Barn in Perry and the lunch room for the Perry Schools.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perry.

She enjoyed helping people, working word puzzle books and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In death she rejoins her husband, Gail Stech; parents, Wayne and Pauline Grimm; and a sister, Barbara Stech.

Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her two sons, Rodney (Marcia) Stech of Perry and Roger (Gayle) Stech of Chanhassen, Minn.; four grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Zimmer of Buford, Ga., Brandon (Sienne) Stech of West Hollywood, Calif., Jamy (Nick) Haukom of Chaska, Minn., and Trevor (Nikki) Stech of Phoenix, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Kirby Stech and Charlotte Haukom; and a brother, Richard (Patsy) Grimm of Copan, Okla.
