Beverly D. Wesely, 85, of Perry passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at her home in Perry, Iowa, surrounded by her husband of 65 years and her children.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 18 from 1-7 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m., at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory in Perry. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, March 19 at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 11 a.m.

Beverly was born in Faribult, Minnesota, on Sept. 14, 1938. She grew up in Faribault, Warsaw, Waterville and Mankato, Minnesota.

Bev graduated from Mankato High School in 1956.

She then moved to Owatonna, Minnesota, where she met Larry Wesely. They married on Aug. 2, 1958 in Owatonna. They welcomed three children Kathy, Karen and Kurt. Bev and Larry enjoyed their five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bev was a generous person who always had time for anyone seeking assistance.

She was very active in the Perry community, including many hours of volunteer work at St. Pat’s school and church.

Bev was very involved in the 4-H program, acting as 4-H leader, judge for several county fairs and teaching sewing to children and adults.

She welcomed newcomers to Perry through the Welcome Wagon.

Bev owned her own business, named the Sew Room, for more than 40 years. She was a skilled seamstress, designing and creating garments. Part of her business included alterations, which she continued until shortly before her death.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Andrew Wesely of Perry; daughter, Karen (Jeff) Stewart of Perry; son, Kurt (Trish) Wesely of Geneva, Illinois; sisters, Mildred (Don) Wymore, Arlene Wehr, Joanne (Maynard) Madson, Veta Moravec, Elise Elzen and Betty Bradley; sisters-in-law, Romana Wesely, Barb Wesely and Mary (Dave) Kreuger; granddaughters, Mandy (Steve Lage) Stewart of Roland, Tara Wesely of Nashville, Tennessee, and Mindy (Kyle) Baxter of Perry; grandsons, Logan Wesely of Geneva, Illinois, and Tyler Wesely of Geneva, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Reese, Cash and Charlie Baxter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elsie Drinken; brother, George Drinken; sisters, Ione Kohler and Nelda Luft; daughter, Kathy Wesely; brothers-in-law, Richard Wesely, Tom Schoonert, Jerry Wesely, Ken Keller, Donald Wesely, Merle Wehr, Richard Moravec, Daniel Elzen, Lyle Kohler and Gene Bradley; sisters-in-law, Marge Wesely, Jane Wesely, Dorothy Schoonert and Genevieve Keller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the St. Patrick Catholic Church or St. Croix Hospice.
