In a gesture of digital solidarity with the Perry community during the upheavals caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic, Bits of Technology Wireless Internet LLC (BTWI) at 1020 26th St. in Perry is offering free high-speed internet to everyone with a mobile device.

BTWI has mounted powerful outdoor WiFi equipment to the roof of their offices in the East Perry Plaza, turning their parking lot into one big, free WiFi hotspot in order to assist anyone in the area who does not have high-speed internet access at home.

The free high-speed internet has no data limits and can be accessed in the 26th Street parking lot in front of  offices, Stokely Lumber and Hatmaker Supply.

“It can be accessed from the comfort and convenience of your own vehicle,” said a BTWI spokesperson. “Stay healthy and stay safe!”

  1. There are apps available to tether your phone to your laptop with a cord, without enabling the USB tether option on your phone.
Carriers tend to automatically upgrade your account when you use your unlimited data plan on your phone by tethering via the phone’s USB tether option. These apps are a workaround that possibility.
This enables one to stay on the internet even after you used up your hotspot data.
Also, once you are on EBT you can get an approximate $10 reduction on your phone plan or internet plan (only one)
