Bluejay vocalists fly high at IHSMA State contest

Ten Perry High School vocalists performed at Saturday’s Iowa High School Music Association State Solo/Ensemble Contest held at the Greene County High School, and the Bluejays brought home honors.

“What a great day of performances!” said PHS Vocal Music Director Jenn Nelson. “We’re so proud of these students and all their hard work.”

State award winners included:

Division I Ratings
Allie Taggart, vocal solo
Allie Taggart and Dri Eastman, duet

Division II Ratings
Dri Eastman, vocal solo
Julia Stetzel, vocal solo
Anna Ridnour, vocal solo
Molly Moorhead, vocal solo
Amber Benway, vocal solo
Sharitzy Romero, vocal solo

Division III Ratings
Avery Miner, vocal solo
Bryce Eastman and Bella Nath, duet

Bryce Eastman also performed a solo for comments only, with no rating.

“She did a great job!” Nelson said.
