Robert “Bob” Eugene Brown, 59, of Rippey passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 2 from 1-7 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Perry. Burial will be held at a later date at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa.

Bob was born Aug. 19, 1962, in Perry, Iowa, to Thomas “Gene” Eugene and Joanne Kay (Conner) Brown.

He grew up in Perry and graduated from Perry High School in 1981.

During high school, Bob worked in the greenhouse at Schappaugh Florist, where he developed a green thumb.

He was united in marriage to Roxanne Sayles in Perry on July 20, 1985. To the union of their marriage two children were born, Shawn and Tanner.

Bob was a hard worker, starting out his career at Wiese Industries as a welder, a laborer at Asgrow Seed and a maintenance manager at the Homestead before finally finding his true passion being self-employed installing residential metal roofs.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Perry.

Bob’s life revolved around his family. His grandkids were his pride and joy.

He was always putting others first with his giving personality.

Camping, boating, fishing, going to casinos and NASCAR races were a few of his favorite hobbies.

Bob loved to cook and especially enjoyed going to Texas Roadhouse for prime rib.

He loved to spontaneously travel, with his most recent trip to Myrtle Beach.

In death he rejoins his beloved father, Gene; and niece, Amber Stump.

Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his wife, Roxanne; mother, Joanne (Dale Lukenbill); children, Shawn (Jon) Allen anf Tanner (Jessica) Brown; grandchildren, Ava, Asher and Axton Allen; siblings, Doug (Kim) Brown; niece, Shannon (Derrick) Olson; and many other family and friends.
