Bob Topping, 92, of Perry passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held Friday, Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 27 from 9 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Dallas Township Cemetery in Dawson, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Dawson United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
Bobby “Bob” Marvin Topping was born Jan. 29, 1927, in Dawson, Iowa, to Ralph Raymond and Ellen “Nell” Mary (Lenihan) Topping.
He graduated from the Dawson High School.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy.
He was united in marriage to Maxine Jenkins in Perry May 16, 1952.
Bob worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and achieved the Million Mile Club.
He was a member of the Dawson United Methodist Church and enjoyed its fellowship.
Bob enjoyed attending his grandsons’ sporting events, woodworking and helping friends and family.
In death he rejoins his parents; and brothers-in-law, Dwaine Milliken and Merle Jenkins.
Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his wife, Maxine Topping; children, Twila Topping and Tony (Janet) Topping; grandchildren, Nick, Marcus and Adam Topping; sister, Pat Milliken; sister-in-law, Betty Jenkins; and nieces and nephews.
