A Bouton man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly assaulting his wife by repeatedly knocking her down.
Paul Anthony Daggett Jr., 34, of 116 W. Fourth St., Bouton, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of W. Fourth Street in Bouton, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
According to court records, Daggett allegedly “pushed the victim to the ground multiple times, causing her to hit her head,” which “caused a strong headache.”
The victim “also had an earring ripped from her left ear, causing bleeding,” and she “received a cut on her left hand” and “a cut on her left heel,” with both “causing bleeding,” according to court records.
Daggett was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
