WAUKEE — Perry has a sharing agreement with Waukee for bowling, an arrangement that allows any interested PHS student to be able to compete for a spot on the Warrior team.
This year that has proven to be a big deal, as Garrhett Bucklew placed fifth at a recent substate meet in Sioux City to help the Warriors earn a spot in the Class 3A State Bowling Tournament.
Bucklew will try and help his Waukee team strike for the title Feb. 24 at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines. Doors open at 9 a.m. with the lanes coming to life at 10 a.m.
In addition to the bowling agreement with Waukee, Perry has similar agreements with Boone for boys swimming (there are currently no students doing so) while allowing Panorama boys or girls to compete for the Bluejay and Jayette soccer teams.
Way to go, Big Buck!
