Cellular Advantage, the Perry agent of U.S. Cellular at 526 First Ave., welcomed the Perry Chamber of Commerce to its recently refurbished sales floor Wednesday afternoon for a ribbon cutting celebration.

“This has been a dream of mine,” said Fish, who has been commuting from Perry to Cellular Advantage stores in the Des Moines metro for 17 years. “When Doug called and said we were opening a store in my hometown and asked if I wanted to run it, there was no hesitation.”

Fish also manages the Cellular Advantage store in Boone at 428 Story St. His father, Les Fish of Perry, was the longtime engineer at the KDLS radio station.

“Matt is the perfect fit for the Perry store,” Ecklund told the gathered Chamber members. “He has the heart for it.”

Ecklund founded the company in 1993, and Fish joined the team in 2000, with yesterday, Tuesday, Oct. 24, marking his 17th anniversary with the wireless phone company.
