Charity Blakeman, 31, of Jefferson and formerly of Boone passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Her family will be hosting a memorial service in her honor Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. at the Grace Community Church in Boone. Memorials will be given to her family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Charity Helena Blakeman was born March 14, 1990, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John Charles and Linda Lee (Warnock) Jacobsen.

She graduated from Perry High School and then attended La’ James International College.

Charity was united in marriage to Luke James Blakeman in Dawson, Iowa, July 20, 2018.

She owned Mane Event in Des Moines and later was an educational assistant at Franklin Elementary School in Boone.

Charity was a member of the Grace Community Church in Boone.

She enjoyed horseback riding, reading “Game of Thrones” and “Harry Potter,” going to the beach and knitting.

Charity was a very social person and loved being with her family and friends.

In death she rejoins her grandparents, Beth and Donald Warnock; and a sister, Jenny Jacobsen.

Left to cherish Charity’s memory are her husband, Luke; daughter, Nara Blakeman; parents, John and Linda and her sisters, Julia (Joel) Howells and Joanna (Dustin) Black.

  1. Linda Warnock — a name from our Dawson past. I’m so sorry about the loss of your daughter. Also didn’t know that Don & Beth were gone. It’s been a long time since Mom (Dorla Cofer) used to babysit for you guys. My condolences. Kae Huff

  2. I worked with Charity on a photoshoot doing hair and thought she was so kind and funny and talented. I’m deeply saddened to hear of her passing and leaving behind a young daughter. She will be missed.
