Charlotte Wicks, 91, of Perry passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Rowley Masonic Community in Perry, Iowa.

A gathering of family friends will be Saturday, July 6 from 2-4 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Care in Perry. Burial will take place in the Violet Hill Cemetery.

Memorials will be given to the Perry Public Library and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Charlotte Faye Wicks was born March 31, 1928, in Ogden, Iowa, to Henry and Marie (Cook) Tingwald.

She attended Ogden High School for three years and then moved to Perry, where she graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1947.

Charlotte was united in marriage to Harold Wicks for 27 years.

She worked at the Rowley Masonic Home and the Woodward Resource Center.

Until her eyesight failed, she loved to read. She enjoyed looking nice, having her hair and nails done and having a cold Coors Light.

In death she rejoins her parents, Henry and Marie; brother, Granville; and sisters, Martella Ely, Adele Carrel and Frances Hamman.

Left to cherish Charlotte’s memory are her daughters, Jill (Tim) Monroe of Murray, Iowa, and Jane (Steve) Modlin of Dawson; grandchildren, Tammy (Eddie) DeWolfe, Jason (Linh) Motsick, Adam Modlin, Zachary Modlin, Katie (Alan) Jensen and Aaron Monroe; great-grandchildren, Lexi Jensen, Austin Jensen, Macey Monroe, Shyanne Monroe and Jaggar DeWolfe; and a sister, Rose Burton.
