Trees in the parking that are marked with a white X will be removed by the city at no charge to the property owner.

City of Perry crews are completing the storm debris pick up and are beginning the removal of damaged limbs and trees in the parking.

The city will no longer pick up storm debris from the neighborhoods, but residents may continue to haul storm debris to the dump site at Pattee Park. The storm debris dump site at the park’s campground parking lot is now full, so residents are asked to use the debris dump site at the Perry Dog Park at the south end of W. Fifth Street.

The free use of the storm debris dump site is open to Perry residents only.

The storm debris dump site is for yard and tree debris only. City crews have found fences, lawnmowers and other prohibited items in the pile. If you are caught dumping items like this in the pile, you will be asked to remove the items and might be subject to a fine.

In order to access Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds, the city of Perry must document all damaged trees. City crews will be photographing and marking trees for removal. If you have an “X” marked on a tree in the parking, this tree will be removed. There is no cost to the property owner for the removal of the marked trees in the parking.

If you hire a contractor to remove a tree on your property, make sure the contractor is registered with the city of Perry. Hiring a reputable contractor is important, so make sure the contractor provides you with proof of insurance. Contractors must haul away tree debris and may use the dump site at the Perry Dog Park parking lot.
