Students came pouring into the Perry Elementary School from about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, excited about the start of the school year and eager to see their new teachers and old friends.

Students came pouring into the Perry Elementary School from about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, excited about the start of the school year and eager to see their new teachers and old friends.

The west side drop-off area was busy, with many in-town parents helping keep the number of bus riders low by driving their kids to school.

“This is where the kids need to be,” said Perry Police Department School Resource Officer Josh Sienkiewicz . “It’s a matter of common sense. We can make this a success if we all work together.”

  1. Has anyone noticed the people who used to bemoan homeschooling are now the ones who are upset that the schools are open so parents won’t have to homeschool? Thank you, Perry schools, for being open!
