Concrete patching proceeds on First Avenue north of Willis Avenue.

Concrete patching and repairs began this week on First Avenue (Iowa Highway 144) north of Willis Avenue, with work by Des Moines Asphalt and Paving causing “minor disruptions to traffic,” according to the Perry City Hall.

The disruptions will be limited primarily to daytime hours only, the city said.

The repaving and reconfiguration of First Avenue is fully funded by the Iowa Department of Transportation and costs Perry residents nothing in city taxes. The 60-block overlay project on Perry’s side streets, also to be done by Des Moines Asphalt, will be paid for with Local Option Sales Tax and Road Use Tax funds.

For more information about the public works projects, call the Perry City Hall at 515-465-2481 or Jacob Ahrens with Bolton and Menk Inc. at 515-233-6100.
