Adam Jose Rodriguez, 39, of Dallas Center was arrested Saturday on charges of assault and third-degree criminal mischief.

A Dallas Center man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly punching out two windows in another Dallas Center man’s residence and then barging in and assaulting the man.

Adam Jose Rodriguez, 39, of 1602 Maple St., Dallas Center, was charged with assault and third-degree criminal mischief.

The incident began about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Maple Street, where a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff responded to a report of “a male in a green shirt yelling, ‘I
am going to kill you,'” according to court records.

The arriving deputy found Rodriguez “sitting on top of the victim in a fighting position,” and both Rodriguez and the victim “were covered in blood,” according to court records.

Rodriguez “immediately raised his hands in the air and stated that this was all his fault,” according to court records.

The deputy observed no injuries on the victim. Rodriguez “had a cut on his hand consistent with punching through a glass window,” and the deputy observed windows in the living room and bedroom were “punched out,” according to court records.

Rodriguez was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 6 in Dallas County District Court.

Rodriguez was arrested Feb. 19 in Perry on a charge of third-degree harassment. The case is pending in Dallas County District Court.
