Luis James Clyce, 49, of Dallas Center was arrested Sunday on a charge of assault.

A Dallas Center man was charged with assault Sunday afternoon after allegedly roughing up his housemate.

Luis James Clyce, 49, of 903 Vine St., Dallas Center, was charged with assault.

The incident began about 12:45 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Vine Street, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

Investigators determined that Clyce allegedly “placed his hand on the victim’s chest and pushed him onto the love seat” and then “stood in front of the victim with his fists clenched, threatening to hit him,” according to court records.

Clyce allegedly “had the victim pinned to where he was unable to move.”

The victim told the deputies that he “was scared of Clyce and wished to pursue charges,” according to court records.

Clyce is held in the Dallas County Jail without bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

Clyce was convicted of assault-use/display of a weapon in 1993 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of assault in 2009 in Polk County District Court.
