April 6, 2018

  • Deanna Berch of De Soto was traveling south on U.S. Highway 169 when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
  • Sheldon Brittain of Redfield was traveling east on Lansing Street near G Trail when excesive speed on the gravel caused his vehicle to enter the ditch and strike an embankment. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,500. Brittain was issued a citation and released for failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way, driving while license suspended, speeding, careless driving and no insurance.
  • John Phillip Tafta Jr., 36, of 23 North St., Hartford, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on original charges of burglary, theft and trafficking in stolen weapons.
  • Dimitri Franklyn Oneal Woodruff, 24, of 70 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested in the 17000 block of J Avenue for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended and failure to provide proof of insurance.

April 7, 2018

  • Kenneth R Schultz, 69, of M401 State Highway 97, Marshfield, Wis., was arrested in the 24000 block N Avenue in De Soto for OWI.
  • David Anthony Moore, 52, of 1711 W. Third St., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.

April 8, 2018

  • Jason Richard Spence, 40, of 204 Fifth St., Minburn, was arrested in the 14000 block of N Avenue for driving while barred.
  • Sarah Gail of Polk City was traveling in the 25000 block of W Avenue when her vehicle hit a patch of ice, and the driver lost control of the vehicle, which entered the ditch and rolled over onto the roof. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle estimated at $10,000.

April 9, 2018

  • Chidera Angelina Nwankwo, 22, of 6700 S.E. Fifth St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for scheduling conference on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
