  • The Dollar General Store in De Soto reported fake money used to purchase items.

August 28, 2017

  • Steven Michael Wilson, 40, of 417 N. First St., Winterset, was arrested in the 36000 block of N Avenue for driving while license suspended.
  • Amber Schildberg of Greenfield was traveling near the 117 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 when the vehicle started to fishtail, left the roadway and entered the north ditch. The vehicle then struck the cable barrier. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle estimated was at $4,500, with $500 in estimated damage to the cable barrier.
  • Jorge Gomez-Garcia of Perry was traveling north in the 15000 block of J Avenue when his vehicle hit the shoulder, and he over-corrected, skidding across the southbound lane, leaving the roadway and striking a road sign. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,500. with $250 is estimated damages to the road sign and $100 in estimated damages to the sod and bushes of the landowner. Gomez-Garcia was issued a citationd for failure to maintain control and no driver’s license.
  • Armando Huerta of Des Moines was traveling south in the 34000 block of Dexfield Road when his vehicle left the roadway, crossed the center lane and entered the east ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,500, with $100 in estimated damages to a barbwire fence. Huerta was issued a citation for failure to maintain control and no driver’s license.

August 29, 2017

  • Jerome J. Haynes, 31, of 3118 Columbia St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.
