Aug. 14, 2023
- Troy Williams of Winterset was traveling near the intersection of Guthrie and Willow streets in De Soto when his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle, driven by Adam Williams of De Soto. No injuries were reported. Damage to Troy Williams’ vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to Adam Williams’ vehicle was estimated at $4,000. Adam Williams was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
- Jose Herrera of Tama, was traveling on U.S. Interstate 80 near the 100 mile marker when a mechanical issue caused his vehicle to strike the cable barriers on one side of the roadway. Herrera attempted to regain control but overcorrected, and his vehicle struck the cable barriers on the other side of the interstate as well. No injuries were reported. Damage to Herrera’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to the cable barriers was estimated at $750.
Aug. 23, 2023
- Amy Engstrom of Des Moines was traveling near the intersection of Nile Kinnick Drive and Greene Street in Adel when her vehicle struck a vehicle, driven by a minor driver of Adel, which in turn struck an Adel Police Department patrol vehicle, driven by Officer Joel Delaney. No injuries were reported. Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $500. Engstrom was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
Aug. 24, 2023
- Sierra Koeniguer Law, 25, of 3211 30th St, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of probation violation.
