- Hugo Molina of Jamaica was traveling in the 25000 block of Iowa Highway 141 when his vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch, striking a wooden post and barbed wire fence. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle estimated at $1,500. Molina was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.
- Annie Bowman of West Des Moines was traveling near the 118 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 when she hit an icy patch on the road and lost control of her vehicle, striking the cable barrier. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle estimated at $7,500 and approximately $4,000 to the posts.
February 25, 2017
- Dustin Lynn Bushman, 20, of 701 N. Cedar St., Jefferson, was arrested in the 25000 block of Iowa Highway 141 for driving while license revoked.
- Robert Riewer of Van Meter was traveling south on Veterans Memorial Drive when he was struck head on by a vehicle driven by Bryce Haynes of Adel. Another vehicle, driven by Casey Lavia of Van Meter, was behind Riewer’s vehicle and was unable to come to a stop before colliding with Riewer’s vehicle. Road conditions were a contributing circumstance to the accident. A passenger in Riewer’s vehicle was treated at the scene by the Dallas County EMS. No other injuries were reported. Damage to Riewer’s vehicle estimated at $10,000, $7,500 to Haynes’ vehicle and $2,500 to Lavia’s.
