Oct. 13, 2023
- Sonya Gordon, 36, of 1200 University Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
- Peyton Leever of Panora was traveling westbound on Iowa Highway 44 near the intersection of K Avenue when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle, driven by Kathy Vonnahme of Adel, that was traveling eastbound on Iowa Highway 44. No injuries were reported. Damage to Leever’s vehicle and trailer was estimated at $3,000, and damage to Vonnahme’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000. Vonnahme was arrested on a charge of OWI and issued a citation for failure to yield half or roadway.
Oct. 14, 2023
- Brent Hassebrock of Clive was traveling in the 31000 block of 190th Street when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
Oct. 15, 2023
- Miguel Torres, 34, of 523 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.
- Todd Peitzman, 55, of 138 315th St., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.
- A minor driver was traveling in the 14000 block of Zook Spur Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which entered the ditch and overturned. The driver and a passenger were transported by Dallas County EMS to Mercy One Medical Center is Des Moines. Damage was estimated at $12,000.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
