The Dallas County Hospital announced Thursday its ambulatory surgery department received top marks in six categories from 34 patient surveys returned last quarter.

The six categories are:

  • Friendly surgery nursing staff
  • Confidence in the skill of the nurses
  • Confidence in the skill of the physicians (surgeons)
  • The whole staff worked together well
  • Was kept informed about any delays
  • Concerns/complaints were responded to in a satisfactory and timely manner

All six categories were rated by consumers at 100 percent, the highest possible score.

“We congratulate all of our surgeons, nurse anesthetists, nursing staff and support service staff who contributed to Dallas County Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Department’s tremendous success this past quarter,”” said Margo Starr, Dallas County Hospital surgery manager.

Starr said DCH staff members “strive to make our patients as at home as possible during procedures. Surgeries are something we know our patients are nervous about, no matter what procedure they are receiving. It is exciting to see our patients as happy with the level of care we provide here at Dallas County Hospital.”
