The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a dense fog advisory that will be in effect from 2-8 a.m. Sunday.
Motorists should expect visibility of one-quarter mile or less, especially between 4-7 a.m. Sunday.
Travel may be difficult and much slower due to very low visibility, according to the NWS. Motorists are advised to allow extra time to reach their destinations safely and to follow fog safety rules and use low beam headlights.
Drivers should slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of them.
