Derry Pitsenbarger, 71, of Perry passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at his home near Perry, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held Friday, Aug. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Perry Bible Church in Perry. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 2 from 4-7 p.m. at the Perry Bible Church in Perry.

Memorials will be given to Dallas County 4-H and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Derry Dean Pitsenbarger was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Perry to Dale L. and Thelma June (Schwab) Pitsenbarger.

He graduated from Dexfield High School and attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and Oklahoma State.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Meacham at the Shiloh Bible Church Sept. 9, 1967.

Derry was a lifelong farmer.

He was a member of the Perry Bible Church, Dallas County Cattleman’s Association, Iowa Herford Association, Dallas County Fair Board, Iowa State Fair Board and was a high school rodeo director.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, rodeos, cattle shows, high school football games and restoring old tractors.

He especially loved his grandchildren.

In death he rejoins his parents, Dale and Thelma Pitsenbarger; and a nephew, Kip Rogen.

Left to cherish Derry’s memory are his wife, Joyce Pitsenbarger; children, Wendi (Dan) Moody of Maxwell, Iowa, Jodi (Carl) Jenkins of Des Moines and Mandi (Jim) Orman of Linden; grandchildren, Trystan Pitsenbarger, Chasity and Shasta Moody, Noah, Zoe and Macey Jenkins and Jarrett, Jacey and Jenner Orman; siblings, Doyce Pitsenbarger of Oregon and Karla Rogen of Linden; and numerous friends and neighbors.
