Funeral services for Dulcie Taylor, 93, of Perry and formerly of Woodward will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 at Murdock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, with the family receiving friends from 5–7 p.m. at Murdock Funeral Home.

Dulcie passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry, Iowa.

Dulcie Hope Mickelson was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Anton and Jane (Lund) Mickelson. She was the 10th child of 13 children.

Dulcie attended Alton Rural School and Perry Community Schools.

In 1942 she moved to Bridal Veil, Ore., and worked at Bridal Veil Lumber and Box Factory, where they made wooden ammunition boxes for use in World War II. After the war was over, Dulciee returned to Perry and worked in the floral business.

She married Francis “Newt” Taylor June 5, 1955, in Perry.

After Newt retired, they moved to rural Woodward and opened a flower shop in Woodward,  which they later sold and is now known as Flowers by Donna Jean.

Survivors include two sons, Gordon (Dorsey) Taylor of Woodward and James (Janet) Taylor of Waukee; one daughter, Susan Derry of Stuart; seven grandchildren, Joel Taylor, Brad Taylor, Aaron McCann, Josh Taylor, Karen Derry, Jacob Derry and Mark Derry; five great-grandchildren, Zachary Derry, Bianca Taylor, Stone McCann, Calvin Derry and Tom McCann; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Mickelson of Dallas Center.

Preceding Dulcie in death were her parents; husband on Oct. 19, 2005; one granddaughter; six brothers; six sisters; and son-in-law, Lyle Derry.
