Final numbers in for Perry frosh footballers

The Perry freshman football team had a 1-7-1 record this fall.

The Perry freshmen finished their grid season 1-7-1 overall, and frosh coach Shannon Cline and assistant Mark Weber recently released final individual statistics for the Bluejays.

Keghan West completed 34-of-85 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns. He was intercepted nine times. Avery Meister was 1-of-7 for two yards while tossing three interceptions.

Kato Dougan caught 10 passes for 177 yards and a touchdown, with Meister grabbing 15 aerials for 80 yards and two TDs. Ever Tobar had four catches for 53 yards and a score, with Kolby Wolfe gaining six yards on four receptions. Dougan and Tobar also caught two-point conversion passes.

Erick Funez led the rushing attack with 316 yards and a TD on 99 carries, with Dougan (18-81, 1 TD), West (19-67) and Jacob Nelson (18-32) also key parts of the ground assault. Wilber Ramirez (6-17), Tyler Fessler (7-5), Roel DeJesus (3-3), Tobar (1-3) and Meister (4, minus-4) also had carries for the Bluejays.

Dougan had a strong season in on special teams, returning kicks for touchdowns of 78 yards and of 80 yards.
