Fleeing man tasered, arrested in Minburn traffic stop Wednesday

Manuel Ochoa, 26, of 1318 Ninth Ave. S, Fort Dodge, was arrested in the 18900 block of N Avenue in Minburn about 4 p.m. for speeding, driving while license suspended, carrying weapons, interference with official acts, no insurance and on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of controlled substance violation.

A routine traffic stop at the curve on U.S. Highway 169 on Minburn’s north side led to the arrest of two people Wednesday afternoon when the driver fled on foot and was subdued with a taser before being taken into custody without further incident.[wpedon id=”82220″ align=”center”]

Manuel Ochoa, 26, of 1318 Ninth Ave. S, Fort Dodge, was arrested in the 18900 block of N Avenue in Minburn about 4 p.m. for speeding, driving while license suspended, carrying weapons, interference with official acts, no insurance and on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of controlled substance violation.

“It was a foot chase with Ochoa,” said Dallas County Chief Deputy Sheriff Adam Infante. “He was tased. He was brought to the hospital. He was cleared, and then he was brought to jail.”

Ochoa is being held in the Dallas County Jail while awaiting an initial appearance before a Dallas County magistrate.

Formerly of Perry, Ochoa was arrested is similar circumstances Aug. 28, 2016, when he attempted to evade arrest by fleeing on foot, resulting in his arrest on a warrant for probation violation on an original charge of intent to manufacture/deliver methamphetamine.

Janet Bivanco, 20, of Perry was a passenger in Ochoa’s vehicle Wednesday. She was arrested on a charge of interference with official acts.

The Dallas County EMS also responded to the Minburn incident.
