Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Gatherings on 2nd – A Curated Holiday Collection has opened at 1016 Second St. in downtown Perry.
The shop will be run by Tiffany Olejniczak of Perry, who welcomed the Chamber of Commerce members to the store Thursday afternoon for a ribbon cutting.
Olejniczak said she has owned the commercial property since 2008 and used it as a batting cage for Perry athletes, and now is the time to give at least a portion of the commercial space over to commerce.
“We thought maybe a good compromise was to try this popup model,” she said, “so this is our first popup. We’re going to be open Friday and Saturday and then again on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. If it’s something that the community supports and likes, we’ll do it quarterly, but this is the first one, so we’ll see how it goes.”
Gatherings on 2nd stocks three categories of items. There is a Perry-themed section, a Christmas-holiday section and a smiley-face section.
