Geneen Tibben, 80, of Dawson passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, at the Eden Acres Campus of Perry Lutheran Homes in Perry, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in rural Bouton, with visitation at 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Iowa.

Geneen Winifred Tibben was born Sept. 15, 1942, in Amery, Wisconsin, to George Washington and Violet (Larson) Larson.

She graduated from the New Richmond High School and attended AIB in Des Moines.

Geneen was united in marriage to Leroy Charles Tibben at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter on Oct. 7, 1962.

She worked at the Perry Chief as an ad builder and receptionist for many years.

Geneen also baked and grew produce to take to the Perry farmer’s market.

Family was Geneen’s number one love.

She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church rural Bouton and sang in the choir. She loved attending church, singing in the choir and when she couldn’t attend, she would watch the church service on Facebook.

Geneen enjoyed baking and feeding people.

She was a lifelong blood donor and was an avid reader.

In death she rejoins her parents, George and Violet Larson; and a brother, Donald Larson.

Left to cherish Geneen’s memory are her husband, Leroy Tibben; sons, Blaine (Kristen) Tibben of Ames, Brian (Alice) Tibben of Ames and Bradley (De Anna) Tibben of Marshalltown; grandchildren, Madison (Paul) Lundgren, Olivia Tibben, Anna Tibben, William Tibben, Jakob Tibben and Abigail Tibben; great-grandchildren, James Lundgren, Crew Lundgren and River Lundgren; a brother, Burleigh Larson of Baldwin, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials will be given to The Lutheran Hour or Perry Area Food Pantry and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
