Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements for Gladys Marie Read of Perry, who died on her 87th birthday, Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the First Presbyterian Church in Perry, where she was a long time member. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 at Hastings Funeral Home, with family present from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery next to her husband, Cliff.
Gladys is survived by her son, Keith Read, and his wife, Sue, of Olathe, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Teresa Wempe Read Malchesky, and husband, Victor, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two granddaughters; and nieces and nephews whom she considered grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church of Perry.
