Gordon “Gordie” Bruce Warriner was born Oct. 12, 1949, to Vernon and Viola (Bruce) Warriner in Cherokee, Iowa.

Gordie was raised in Aurelia, Iowa, where he graduated high school.

Gordie married Ardell Erickson after high school. They had two children. After their marriage ended, Gordie went on to marry Linda Clark. He gained five more children.

Gordie held many different jobs throughout the years.

Gordie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed watching TV, mainly “His Westerns.”

Gordie taught his children to stand up for themselves and to work to support themselves.

Gordie passed away on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, at his home in Perry, Iowa. He was surrounded by family as he took his last breath.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Terri (Tomas) Macias, and grandchildren, Tausha Warriner and Samantha Macias, Toni Klemish, and grandchildren, Jacob Clark, Joanna Rodriguez and Jesse Rodriguez, Krista Espinoza, and grandchildren, Natalie Espinoza, Daniel Espinoza, Teresa Jacobsen, Carmela Espinoza and Hector Espinoza, Travis (Tina) Clark, Trisha (Scott) Bosler, and grandchildren, Nicholas Bosler and Kaitlin Bosler, Tammy Clark, and grandchildren, Dominic Clark and Jazmine Macias, and Teresa (Gerardo) Gonzalez, and grandchildren, Jenna Gonzalez, John Gonzalez, Carina Gonzalez and Erika Gonzalez; 19 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Randy Reed; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends are also left to remember him.

Gordie is preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws. Warren and Rosie Schroeder; his grandson, Alex Bruce Macias; his sister and brother-in-law, Colette and Richard Ekstrom; brothers, Douglas Warriner and Vernon Warriner; other relatives; and many of his friends who preceded him in death.

There will not be a service. In lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, please donate to your local food pantry in memory of Gordie.
