UPDATE: Granger man cited in Minburn mishap Thursday

The Dallas County Sheriff's office, Minburn Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas County EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision about 3:15 p.m. Thursday at Second and Chestnut streets in Minburn. A Granger man was cited for failure to maintain control.

A vehicle driven by Mayqueline Alfaro of Perry sustained an estimated $8,000 in damage when it was struck by a vehicle driven by Brody Nevins, 19, of Granger. Nevins was cited for failure to maintain control.

A Granger man was cited in the two-vehicle collision about 3:15 p.m. Thursday that tied up local traffic at Second and Chestnut streets in Minburn.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Brody Nevins, 19, of Granger was trying to negotiate a curve on Chestnut Street in Minburn when he lost control of his vehicle, which entered the opposite lane and struck an oncoming car driven by Mayqueline Alfaro of Perry.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Nevins was issued a citation for failure to maintain control. He pleaded guilty less than one year ago to a charge of failure to yield half the roadway in another incident.

Each vehicle in Thursday’s collision sustained damages estimated at $8,000.

The Dallas County EMS, Minburn Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas County Sheriff’s office responded.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]
