Harry Waters, 75, of Perry passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020, in Windsor Heights, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery in Minburn.
Memorials will be given to Forest Park Museum in Perry and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
Harry Lee Waters was born Dec. 20, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa. to Clyde Eldridge and Elsie (Branson) Waters.
He graduated from the Dallas Center High School.
Harry worked at Perry Lutheran Home as a certified nurse assistant.
Harry enjoyed nature, studying plants for medicinal purposes, living off the land and collecting American Indian artifacts.
In death he rejoins his parents, Clyde and Elsie Waters.
Left to cherish Harry’s memory are his daughter, Jaime Waters of Windsor Heights; grandchildren, Nathaniel Soumas, Noelle Gertsen and Axel Hegstrom; and sisters, Donna Harris of Adel and Joan Powers of Oklahoma City.
RIP Harry. You were always an interesting man to talk to. Thanks for all you’ve taught me and others about the forgotten ways of the land.
I remember him coming to Peters Service Center to get propane. He will be missed
