Harvey Grabill of Minburn

Harvey Marion Grabill, 81, passed away May 7, 2022. He was born on July 23, 1940, to James “Archie” Grabill and Lena Lucille Moore in Missouri.

Harvey moved to Minburn, where he later met his wife, Linda (Rote) Grabill. They married on Nov. 24, 1979, and together they raised 12 children.

Harvey worked for the city of Adel for 22 years and retired in 2001. He also served on the Adel Volunteer Fire Department.

Harvey was very much a family man. He enjoyed watching his nephews and grandsons race at the local dirt tracks and taking his grandchildren fishing.

Harvey also enjoyed mowing and camping.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Linda; mother-in-law, Phyllis Rote; siblings, Richard Grabill, Cecil Grabill, Oscar Grabill and Virginia; children, Mary, Patricia, Lewis, Rebecca, Ruby, Rose, Bobby (Robbi) Culp and Julie Kinkennon; grandchildren, Butch Culp, Steven Culp (Bernadette) Culp, James (Ashley) Culp, Scott (Amy) Culp, Nicole Kinkennon-Bettis, Chad (Jordyn) Culp, Lisa (Clint) Culp, Kylie (Sergio) Mendoza, Jeff (Kaiti) Culp, Brooke Grabill and Hollywood Grabill; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Shyeanne, Deacon, Scarlet, Talen, Lanie, Dean, Ian, Camila, Grayson, Wayne and Maverick; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Dean Rote; sisters, Viola Hickman, Vera Pruitt, Freda Hadley and Sylvia Blitz; brother, Bill Grabill; brother-in-law, Bob Pruitt; and sons, Dean, Paul, Lawrence and Terry.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 13 from 5-7 p.m. and funeral services Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home at 735 S. 14th St. in Adel. A luncheon will follow the funeral services at the Adel Volunteer Fire Department station at 102 S. 10th St. in Adel.
