The Rowley Masonic Community has a new management company directing its operations now that Health Dimensions Group (HDG), a Minneapolis, Minn.-based company, took over the Perry facility Nov. 15.

“The heritage of this place is amazing,” said Evelyn Hanson, an HDG consultant from Texas who is sharing interim administrator duties with HDG Social Services Director Allie Prahl.

“We’re here because we feel we can be a real benefit to the Rowley community,” Hanson told ThePerryNews.com Tuesday. “We don’t know what happened in the past, but we intend to look forward now. We’re not here to change history but go to on with delivering high-quality care to our residents.”

Hanson has a background in long-term care. She said her parents owned and operated nursing homes in Texas, and she has more than 30 years of professional experience in the field.

Prahl has been a social worker for 12 years, including her present position at the Rowley, which she took in September. She also holds a provisional license as an administrator.

Rowley residents learned of the change in management in a Nov. 13 letter from Neil Paulsen, chair of the Rowley Masonic Community Board of Trustees, and Ann Robinson, HDG executive vice president for operations and quality.

“Health Dimensions Group is a values-driven health care organization committed to the core values of hospitality, stewardship, respect, integrity and humor,” the letter said.

The letter said “a search for a new administrator” has begun, and Hanson confirmed the administrator’s position will soon be advertised.

The previous management company, Continuum Health Care Services, took over operation of the 57-bed Rowley Masonic Community in the summer of 2015. Construction of the $20 million, 72,000-square-foot addition to the Rowley began in January 2014, and residents moved from the old to the new facility Feb. 11, 2015.

The Rowley’s 36-acre campus, offering independent living, assisted living, health care, dementia care and transitional rehabilitation, is operated by a board of directors through the Grand Lodge of Iowa, with a trust agreement administered by the District Court of Dallas County  and Otley Lodge 299 AF&AM.

Health Dimensions Group manages 30 health care properties in seven states and has extensive experience with day-to-day operations of skilled nursing facilities, continuing care retirement communities, assisted and independent living communities and home health care.

The $20 million addition to the Rowley Masonic Community opened in February 2015.
