Jefferson Police Report December 4

  • The Cobblestone Hotel requested a welfare check on a female at 771 Wild Rose Lane. An officer made contact with the female and determined she was fine and not in need of assistance.
  • A caller reported he could smell marijuana smoke coming from the apartment air vents in the 100 Block of N. Olive Street. An officer checked the area but did not discover the source of the odor.
  • Officers arrested a male in the 400 block of Greenewood Road on a Polk County warrant for probation violation. Patrick Michael Kennedy, 35, of Jefferson was taken the Greene County Jail and later transferred to the Polk County Jail.
  • Jack Lewis reported a dog running at large in the 500 block of W. State Street. The owner removed the animal from the area before the officer’s arrival.
  • A traffic stop in the 600 block of S. Chestnut Street resulted in Zara Emmick of Jefferson being issued a citation for excessive speed.
  • Colton Davis reported a Greene County School Bus had lightly struck the rear of his 2007 Chrysler Pacifica while stopped at the posted stop sign at Elm Street and Lincoln Way. An officer did not locate any damage on the Davis vehicle. The officer followed up with the school bus driver and was advised Davis had rolled backwards into the front of the bus. The bus sustained no damage. The officer viewed local surveillance footage from the area and located the reported event. The footage supported the bus driver’s claim that Davis backed into him. Neither party requested a report after the officer relayed his findings to them.
