  • A traffic stop was performed in the 800 block of N. Elm Street, which resulted in Jacob Sunde of Scranton being issued a citation for excessive speed.
  • A traffic stop was performed in the 900 block of N. Elm Street, which resulted in Rachel Zabilla of Grand Junction being issued a citation for excessive speed.
  • Tyler Sherbert said someone pounded on the outside wall of the residence at 303 S. Grimmell Road. The officer could not locate anyone in the area.
  • Someone in the 200 block of Hill Rose Lane said a vehicle jumped the curb and partially drove through her yard. The officer is investigating the reported event.
  • Glenn Grotluschen turned in a drug-related smoking device he found on the shoulder of the road near Washington and Vine streets.
  • An anonymous person said he and a friend were walking in the 800 block of W. Washington Street when they were approached by a heavyset female asking if she could buy narcotics from them. He said they told the female to leave them alone, and the female left the area.
  • Hy-Vee reported the theft of alcohol from the store at 106 W. Washington St. A female allegedly took an alcoholic beverage into the women’s restroom, drank the alcohol and left the empty container in the bathroom. Video of the female was provided to an officer, who is investigating.
  • The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office requested assistance from a Jefferson Police Department officer in attempting to locate a female in Jefferson. The female’s unoccupied vehicle was found in a Guthrie County ditch, and authorities were checking on her. The officer could not locate the female in Jefferson.
  • Abbey Binkley reported a female running on N. Wilson Avenue and yelling, “Someone help me.” An officer could not find anyone in the area needing assistance.
  • Jessica Ott reported a pizza delivery driver almost struck her child in a crosswalk at Wilson Street and Lincoln Way. She requested an officer speak with the young driver about his driving habits. The officer spoke with the subject and his boss about the incident.
  • An officer assisted a motorist in changing a flat tire on her vehicle in the 100 block of W. Harrison Street.
  • Brian Mobley reported receiving an email stating he received a parking ticket and needed to pay the fine immediately. Mobley said there was a link to pay the bill online. An officer told Mobley this is not the practice of any police department, and he should delete the email.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
