  • Nicole Johnson reported her ex-boyfriend was given permission to drive her car but now is missing with it. She believed he may be in Des Moines. An officer is investigating.
  • A caller reported a suspicious male in a parking lot in the 200 block of N. Elm Street. An officer made contact with a couple in the area. The male was walking back to Grand Junction, and the female was leaving the area. No action was needed by the officer.
  • Jack Murphy reported a lost wallet.
  • Sparky’s One Stop reported a small diesel fuel spill at 606 U.S. Highway 30 East. The Jefferson Fire Department responded to clean up the fuel.
  • Officers arrested Zachery Allen Waters, 21, of Paton at 806 W. Monroe St on outstanding warrants for three counts of probation violation and operation without owner’s consent. Waters had a glass smoking device in his pocket during the arrest. The smoking device will be tested for narcotics, and future charges are pending. Other items were removed from the residence for testing after officers were given consent to search the residence. The items will be tested, and future charges are pending results of testing.
  • An officer took a report of a backing accident that occurred in the drive-through lane at 116 W. State St. A 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, owned by Mark Naberhaus of Scranton and operated by Hayley Brown of Jefferson, backed into a vehicle at the ATM, a 2012 Toyota Camry, owned and operated by Melissa Pittman of Jefferson. Pittman’s vehicle had a reported $100 in damage. No damage was reported to the Naberhaus vehicle.
  • Izabelle Wilson reported the theft of her debit card at 100 Ram Drive. An unauthorized transaction occurred at an ATM with the card. An officer is investigating.
