January 27, 2017

  • An officer investigated a two-vehicle property damage accident at 101 Ram Drive. A 2005 Chevy Impala, owned by Michael Gibson and operated by Connor Gibson, was pulling out of the parking lot at 101 Ram Drive, and a 2016 Ford Fusion, owned and operated by Josef Miller, was pulling into the parking lot at the same exit/entrance as the Gibson vehicle. The two vehicles collided. The Gibson vehicle had a reported $1,000 in damage to the front end. The Miller vehicle suffered a reported $400 in damages to the front. The accident occurred outside the traffic way on private property, so no citation was issued.
  • The U.S. Postal Service requested a welfare check on a resident in the 100 block of E. Adams Street. The officer learned the resident was okay.
  • An officer investigated a backing accident at 300 N. Elm Street. A 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van, owned and operated by Jack Schilling, was backing from a parking spot and backed into a parked vehicle. The 2002 Ford Taurus was owned by Larry Riley Jr. and suffered a reported $500 in damage. Schilling’s vehicle also suffered $500 in damage. The accident occurred outside the traffic way on private property, so no citation was issued.
  • An officer performed a traffic stop in the 200 block of N. Chestnut Street, resulting in Suanne Winters being issued a citation for failure to maintain registration plate.
  • Courtney Kern requested officers at 702 W. Mahlon St. Kern said the landlord was outside and was breaking all the windows out of the residence. She said he assaulted her boyfriend. Officers arrived, and the suspect had fled from the area. Greene County EMS was called, and one subject was transported to the Greene County Hospital with injuries. The officers are still investigating the event, and future charges are expected in the matter.
  • Christopher Hernandez requested officers at 314 E. Vest St. Hernandez said his girlfriend assaulted him. Officers arrived and spoke with several subjects present at the residence. The officers could not find any evidence of an assault and separated the couple for the evening.

January 28, 2017

  • While conducting business door checks, on officer located an open door at 1004 E. Lincoln Way.
  • An officer performed a traffic stop in the 1000 block of E. Lincoln Way, resulting in Charity Snavely being issued a citation for operation with expired license.
  • Michael Godwin spoke with an officer about being harassed by text message. The officer advised Godwin to stop contacting the other party and did not contact the other party involved.
  • Bambi Brown said she just left a local gas station at 606 Highway 30 East, and the business smelled of natural gas. The officer checked with the business, and an employee said the issue had already been repaired.
  • Trevor Lilly reported a lost wallet containing $1,200 in cash and several bank cards. He believed he might have lost the wallet the prior evening at a local gas station. The officer requested video of the event from the gas station, and the video clearly showed the wallet fall from Lilly’s pocket. A female picked up the wallet and left with it. The officer is investigating.
  • An officer issued a parking violation notice in the 600 block of N. Wilson Avenue for parking between the lot line and curb line.
  • Jenny Coil reported unwanted contact from a male in Scranton. The officer contacted the male and advised him to cease contacting Coil.
  • Michael Godwin reported an erratic driver in the 100 block of N. Locust Street. The officer did not locate the vehicle.
  • Dennis Smith reported vehicles blocking the alley in the 400 block of E. State Street. The officer spoke with an area homeowner, who removed the parked vehicles from the alley.

January 29, 2017

  • A local gas station reported they learned that an employee sold alcohol to an underage person at 303 N. Elm St. Jan. 20. They provided the officer with the video. The officer’s investigation led to a 17-year-old male facing juvenile charges of supplying alcohol to a person under legal age. Brandon Douglas Dudley, 18, of Grand Junction was charged with possession of alcohol under legal age.
  • Chad Black reported snowmobiles riding on the track at 101 Ram Drive. The snowmobiles left the area before the arrival of officers.
  • A male juvenile came to the LEC and spoke with officers. He was involved in an argument with his sister at 504 N. Chestnut St. and left the residence to cool down. The officers returned the male to his residence and spoke to his parents about the issue.
  • Kaden Loew said a vehicle driving near Maple and Adams streets was shining a green laser into other drivers’ eyes. The officer located the parked vehicle later and was advised the vehicle’s owner was in Boone.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 300 block of E. Vest Street.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
