  • Teresa Gaver reported family members were still breaking into her property and moving her items around.
  • An officer investigated a two-vehicle property-damage accident in the 200 block of N. Elm Street. A 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, owned and operated by Virginia Purcell of Guthrie Center, was northbound in the outside lane of N. Elm Street when Purcell attempted to change lanes and her vehicle struck a northbound vehicle beside her, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, owned and operated by Brianna Ferguson of Jefferson. Both vehicles suffered an estimated $1,000 in damages. Purcell was issued a citatio for improper use of lane.
  • People’s Bank reported an ATM machine was struck overnight by a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle reported the event to the bank this morning. Ron Grimsley was operating his 2019 Kia Sorento in the drive through and attempting to pull up to the ATM machine when his vehicle lightly struck the machine. The ATM suffered an estimated $50 in damages, and Grimsley’s had an estimated $850 in damages.
  • Justin Baker requested an officer at 500 E. Clark St. for a male refusing to leave the property. The officer learned the male had resided at the address for three months. The officer advised an eviction process would be required to effect Baker’s removal.
  • While investigating the previous entry, the officer learned a male at the residence had an outstanding arrest warrant. Jon Michael Johnson, 31, of Jefferson was arrested on a Carroll County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of assault.
  • Teresa Gaver reported family members were again stealing her items from 1000 W. Adams St., #6. An officer spoke with Gaver and convinced her this was not happening as no one was at her apartment with her.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
